Menmecho Lake is one of the finest lakes in Sikkim. The lake lies in the eastern region of Sikkim in between the mountain ranges below Jelepla Pass. The beautiful lake lies 20 kilometers before the Tsomgo (Changu) Lake.
The exquisite lake is named so because it is gets water from the melting snow of the mountains. Menmecho Lake at Sikkim is the source of the river Rangpochu and a very famous specie of fish named Trout is found here. A fishing farm is situated nearby for the cultivation of the marine creature. This is why fishing is one of the very famous activity for the visitors of this lake.
The exotic locale of the Menmecho Lake in Sikkim is situated 60 kilometers away from Gangtok. The lakeside is approachable through the state capital by all the local transports that run there. Gangtok is accessible through air, rail and road. So reaching the lakeside would not be difficult.
The nearest airport to Menmecho Lake of Sikkim is Bagdogra in Siliguri from where you can take up the connecting flight or helicopter to Gangtok.
